Team Registration Guidelines (Coach's Checklist)
Please keep in mind the deadlines for registering teams with SASC if you are planning to form a team for a given season.
2nd week of July for the fall season.
2nd week of February for the spring season
Complete the SASC Team Registration Form as soon as possible. Once we are aware of your desire to form a team, we will do our best to help you stay on track to complete all requirements before the registration deadline.
The head coach needs to create an account in the PA West Affinity System.
Put together a roster of your players. Make sure to get birth dates for players so you know what age group you will need to register in. See the PA West Age Matrix for more information. Submit a list of players to the registrar, clearly indicate any players that have registered with PA West previously. Please include your birth date so the registrar can link the team to your Affinity Account that you created in Step 3.
Returning players will be migrated to your team by the registrar and should follow the directions for "Returning Players" below. New players should follow the directions for "New Players" below. Prior to registering new players, the coach must login into the PA West Affinity System. Under "Team," click on "Team Info". Below where all of your players are listed and there is a plus sign for "Team Assignment Codes" (screenshot). Each player must be sent a unique code from that list in order to register.
All teams playing through SASC are required to have 2 referees certified with their teams, (a minimum of one adult). This requirement is delayed until the second playing season for new teams. Teams that start in the fall will need two certified referees with their team prior to registering a team in the spring. Teams that start in the spring will need two certified referees prior to registering for the next playing season. Please see the Referee Resources for information on referee certification.
If you have players that are 18 or older (or that will be turning 18 during the current playing season) on your team, they must complete Safesport training. Players should email a copy of the certificate to their coach upon completion of the course. If you need a copy of the link to complete this training, please contact an SASC board member.
Read through the Coaching requirements. All coaching requirements must be met before the SASC registration deadline. Teams cannot be declared without at least two coaches on the team.
Attend the SASC registration meeting to submit the registration fee for your team (make one check payable to SASC, all players should write a check to the head coach). Coach must also have waivers for all players available at the coach meeting. The required waivers are linked below under the directions for players.
Registration - New Player Directions
Go to the SASC Registration Portal
Select season and registration type (Player), then "Create a new account" or login using an existing account if you already have one.
You will need a Birth Certificate and photo (headshots only) of player to upload in Affinity during the registration process.
When asked for payment, the registration fees should be paid to your coach (all checks should be written to the head coach). The coach will write one check to SASC on behalf of the team. Enter check number 0000 if necessary.
Each player should be given a new player code from their coach that will be used during the registration process.

COVID Waiver - signed copy given to coach

Check written out to coach for $60 for registration fee.
Registration - Returning Player Directions
Coaches must submit a list of players returning from previous seasons to the registrar.
Update player photo in Affinity.
Any player that is 18 or older (or will be turning 18 during the current playing season) must complete the Safesport training. Coaches will email the registration link to players as needed. Choose 'US Soccer' for the organization.
